MILESTONE #1 – Becoming a Utilitarian Vegetarian

The Jesuit education I received from Saint Joseph’s University was heavily focused on big philosophical ideas such as the purpose of human kind, ethics, and morality. During my first Philosophy class I was introduced to Peter Singer’s utilitarian approach to life and that is when my life has changed for the better and forever.

Let me share one of my favorite quotations with you:
“The time will come when men such as I will look upon the murder of animals as they now look on the murder of men.”
— Leonardo da Vinci

Picture was taken on the day of the commencement ceremory with some of my favorite classmates.
It was a proud moment. I graduate magna cum laude and was also granted the Finance Department’s prestigious Finance Award that is given to only one student each year. I felt that it was well deserved as I was always one of the top performers in my classes, and unlike others, I had to balance full-time schooling and a full-time work load.
